The New York Times choice
[Sorrento Lemon Panettone] .... from Albertengo arrived too late for inclusion on last year's list, but I'm still smitten. It is soft and buttery, and its candied [Sorrento] lemon replaces the conventional raisins and candied citron.— Marian Burros in the New York Times
This hand-wrapped package tied with a shimmering gold ribbon contains one of the most delicious Panettones we've ever tasted.
Unlike a traditional panettone that is studded with raisins and candied citron, this ethereal panettone is made with lightly candied Sorrento lemons, and I swear that you can almost smell the heavenly scent right through the wrapping. Light and buttery, soft in texture, it will melt in your mouth, and the aroma and flavor of the Sorrento lemon will drive you to distraction. It is the perfect dessert for that holiday feast or open house. Serve it with some espresso or Vin Santo, and Buon Natale.
This Sorrento Lemon Panettone is from Albertengo, 4th generation baker and master panettone maker.
We have over 15 Holiday Panettone’s this year to choose from! We sell out quickly on the new ones every year!
If you live in Seattle, stop by our shop the weekend after Thanksgiving, and give all our wonderful Panettone a taste.

Mother Sperry’s Plum Pudding is back in stock! |
“Chock full of fruit and generously laced with brandy, this pudding manages to be rich but not too sweet. It comes in a festive red box and is, according to its creator, Mother Sperry’s Great Leap Backward…a classic.”
— Marian Burros in the New York Times
Winnie Sperry makes one of the best plum puddings in the world - really! So, how good is it? We have customers in England who order it every year! That, I would say, is pretty good. Using real ingredients makes for the real deal. It’s a warm treat that can’t be beat. Make a little hot sipping drink or a super dark drinking chocolate and light a warm fire, and you are ready to tackle winter in complete comfort. Just look for the plum pudding in the red box.

Ketjap Manis – Updated just in time for Christmas! |
Now in a beautiful glass bottle, Ketjap Manis arrives just in time. Nothing like a sweet soy sauce from Thailand via Holland! Like a sweetener and like a soy sauce, it plays well with meat and fish, soups and even rice!

My friend Don swears by it, and it’s what he used when he was cooking at The Butcher in Chicago. Classic Hungarian Paprika - both sweet and hot in a tin. I love the look.
