The Sweet Rainier Cherry!
The gift that gives twice & lighter than air!
Amazing fruit, the sweet cherry is. With a crunch, a sweetness erupts along with flowing juices. With its wonderful sweet-tart flavor distinct unto itself, varied by the many varieties that there are. We offer these: the majestic multi-colored Rainier, the sweet Bing, the big juicy Lapin, and the sweet-tart Sweetheart. Each and every one is Picked-at-their-Peak, sorted by hand in the orchard, and shipped directly to your door.
It's one of those gifts that our world gives us and it's one of the sweetest gifts you can give. A Cherry Certificate received now, as the winter temperatures turn cold, is a warm reminder of what gifts the summer harvest has to give. And, in just a few months, when the weather turns warm, the memory of such a wonderful gift is revived as the first of the cherries arrive!
Not only is it a gift that gives twice, it is lighter than air. No shipping charges here! It's our version of "buy now - pay later". Remember, we don't charge you until the week before harvest, late June to July, depending on the cherry variety. Give the gift that gives twice - Washington Sweet Cherries.

Fabulous Reed Avocado
Ahh... the gigantor Reed Avocado. It is the epitome of why we love finding food so much. Even before you slice into this thing of natural beauty, you hold it in your hand in wonderment. Its large size, in comparison to the more prevalent Haas avocado, is equivalent to an orange compared to a grapefruit. So enticingly colorful when it's first sliced opened, all you can think of is spooning... Spooning a luscious tablespoon of avocado flesh, and being rewarded by the cool, smooth, buttery feel and taste that the Reed offers.
Peter and Bonnie harvest these beauties for us, cherry picking the largest and best that their trees have to offer. When they arrive at your door, place all but one in the refrigerator. The cool temperature will slow the ripening process, while the one on the counter will quickly ripen to perfection. Unlike other avocados, they keep their deep, rich, green color even when ripe. They are ready to eat when the skin gives to the touch. Anticipation is the best part, and the reward is definitely worth the wait.
And, just like when you give a gift, the reward and the time 'til harvest and arrival is always worth the wait!
Not only is it a gift that gives twice, it is lighter than air. No shipping charges here! It's our version of "buy now - pay later". Remember, we don't charge you until the week before harvest and ship - usually mid-August to mid-September.

Recipes of the Week |
Winter Greens and Farro Salad
- Easy to make ahead, you can keep it for a couple of days, just in case you have a surprise guest, or a party you have to go to. Or, if the week is too busy, make it once and it's ready for the week.
Carrots Glazed with Balsamic Vinegar
- Carrots are just getting their best sugar as the first frost comes. Match them with a good, sweet balsamic.
Roasted Red Onion Wedges
- Another great "have-it-around" recipe for this time of year.
