"Honey, It's cold outside!"
If you like honey, this is for you.
If you like tasmanian honey, this is definitely for you.
If your throat itches, this is for you.
If it's cold outside, this is for you.
If it's the winter where you are, this is for you.
Baby, it's cold outside!
I really can't say - Honey it's cold outside
I've got a cold that won't go away - Honey it's cold outside
This evening has been - Been hoping that you'd drop in
Say, what's in this candy - No fat to be had in here
I wish I knew how - Your drops are like sugar
I really can't say - Honey don't hold out
This is a lozenge wrapped up in a honey of a shell. A sweet candy made from the sugar of one of the finest treats on the planet. Hard, like a classic Lilliputian, it starts with a stubbly feel on the tongue and then transforms almost immediately to a glassy smooth finish. The distinct honey taste starts slowly, revealing itself as you roll the candy around in your mouth. It is pleasantly refreshing - not some aggressive menthol taste attacking your senses. Nor is it some super sweet thing that you bite into with the hope that it will get better.
These honey drops are, in fact, nicely placed between good for you and a treat. The honey, if you are not familiar, is revered by many around the world. It has a distinct taste that can only come from latitude 47. And, even the biggest honey doubter will enjoy these simple, pop-in-your-mouth, make-you-feel-good candies!

We're Smoking again! The best Gift Ever!
The bacon is sliced and out of the smoker. We made bacon wrapped everything on Thursday. It was easy and it was the perfect match to our meal. The runaway ingredient of the year, think of the bacon as the vehicle to a wonderful flavor rich taste. An addition to an egg or a sandwich, baked beans or chili, never too salty, Applewood smoked Mangalitsa Bacon!

Mandarin Olive Oil Cake Topped with Unsweetened Coconut
The Pacific Northwest is known for its dreary weather, I make this cake to liven up the menu and add a lovely tropical/Italian twist to the end of dinner. It's healthy too, so I can tell myself it's okay to have an extra large piece of Panettone the next morning at work.
Split Pea and Ham Soup
No need to sauté the vegetables - just throw everything into a pot!
Turkey Pot Pie from Marion Burros
Equally easy with either turkey or chicken. Our favorite way to use some of those Thanksgiving left-overs. Sometimes this is better than Thanksgiving!
This recipe is adapted from Marian Burros' cookbook, Cooking for Comfort (Simon & Schuster, 2003)
