Siena Traditional Panforte Siena, home of the Traditional
Flamigni Panforte!

Like the stained glass of the Duomo di Siena, a slice of Flamigni Tradizionale Panforte positively glows. Unwrap the paper wrapping and find a foil bag with a packet of powdered sugar. Open the bag and you will uncover a panforte made in Siena.

Looking like a cake without its frosting, you see every delicious morsel of candied fruit and nuts in plain site. First you "swaddle" in powdered sugar and then slice into thin, thin pieces. The first bite is better than you can imagine. Not hard, but soft; full of flavor and filled with holiday joy!

Made from September to February, we have panforte in November and December. This year, we offer one from three brothers, Flamigni. The company was started in 1930, and they continue to produce their specialities in the traditional ways. Using the same ingredients and following the recipes that are over 8o years old.

Where fruitcake, stollen and panforte are similar in their use of candied fruit and nuts, the "feel" of each is wildly different. For me, I like all three, and no holiday is complete without these very special treats!

Organic Oatmeal of Alford Stone Cut
When it Rains, It Pours!
Organic Oatmeal from Scotland, New Crop!

The warehouse and the store are filling with the holiday! And this past week we had delivery after delivery. The holidays are the best! All the new foods and all the old favorites! We love it all. It's exciting and extremely stressful, all at the same time.

We start the process in June, deciding what to get, taking chances on some and wondering if we ordered enough of another! We already have sold out of one of the Panettones! Who would have thunk that would happen!

It is exciting even when our "regulars" arrive in the warehouse because it means harvest is done and the product is "fresh".

Like the Organic Oatmeal of Alford. The skinny on the stone-cut oatmeal is the bomb! ' Can you dig it because this oatmeal is far out, wicked good, it really is to the max. 4-sho it also keeps on (you) truckin' .

So order up a bag or five as it keeps well in a cool dark place!

The first to Arrive!!!

Flamigini Panettone have arrived and is becoming one of our all time faves!

Not just because the first bite of the holiday panettone is splendiferous, (it really is!) but that the Flamigni and it's fabulous packaging is the perfect gift to oneself!

Started by three brothers in the 1930's, Flamigni continues to make their panettone in the main square of Forli, Italy in the Romagna region of Italy. Flamigni has a knack for not only making classic panettone, but putting scrumptious taste combination together that are hard to resist. All their cakes are made the traditional way, with the original mother yeast, along with quality, all natural ingredients.

No shortcuts are taken here. By incorporating modern technology with old family traditions produces a consistent, high-quality cake.

Check them out, they are always the first to sell out.
