Twelve
Twelve is an important number in history especially this time of year.
12 is a sublime, semiperfect, superior highly composite, superabundant, superfactorial and the largest value number with a single syllable name in English.
The song “The Twelve Days of Christmas” is an English Christmas carol written in the Early Modern period. In this period Roman Catholics were not allowed to practice their faith openly, the song was thus a catechism for young Catholics to remember the fruits of their Religion.
How many total presents are there after the 12 days?
Our number 12 is much simpler, no hidden meanings, just 12 of our favorite holiday gifts of foods and ingredients for 2016. Some are sleepers, off the radar of most, others are just always special, but all of them come from the heart. And that's what makes them special, from your buds to another. What shows you care more than good taste?

Antica Torroneria Piemontese Torrone
It's a beautiful sight, the white torrone in its regal box of red, waiting to be unrobed. This soft "style" is luscious in the truest sense of the word! As a gift it makes the perfect statement as one of respect, caring without being overboard. Once you cut it open, the first bite is a hard soft bite that is not sticky and if you're lucky you will cross through a hazelnut on the way adding just the right nut. There is a tiny bit of tingle or sugary feel as the torrone dissolves/disappears. It's that fast! "...I reveled in the ambrosial food that fructifies the soul, the mind, the heart." Mark Twain

Spoon Ready All Day Long!
This Coconut Caramel is a combination that has come together perfectly in a jar. Smooth and silky, as soon as you dip your spoon (or finger) into the glossy "sauce" and your visual mind immediately goes to spiraling it over your favorite vanilla ice cream. To the taste, that first taste is truly an anticipatory moment of curiosity and pleasure! For breakfast pancakes, a sweetener into your coffee, add it to popcorn, mustard sauce, cookies, or make a bourbon and banana smoothy! Its a simple jar which contains imagination, dreams and best of all love. Tough to beat a gift like that!

Sleeper of an Eater!
This shortbread biscuit (we might call it a cookie) is a treat. With the crumble you expect and the lemon added makes it extra special. A simple, lovely tin is a great hostess gift that most assuredly others will not be giving. (Mostly because why would you give it away?)

Pearles du Médoc!
Chocolate covered raisins were great when you went to the movies and you shared them with your date. Who cared about how they tasted, the movie (and the date) were what the evening was about. And now you can find the smallest chocolate covered raisins (I think there are bits, not even whole raisins) now in tiny little boxes. Well, we can tell you, that is not what's in these boxes. Large, plump, (well, as plump as a dried fruit can be) dipped in a luscious dark chocolate, it is better than a movie and that date by far!

Balsamic Vinegar!
One of the most beautiful bottles to care for a wonderful, syrupy Balsamic Vinegar we have seen. Small in stature it won't disappoint any recipient. Just to hold it in your hand makes you feel good! Just remember to let go and wrap it for that someone special in your life!

Pearls of Wisdom!
These crunchy chocolate bits are more than decoration! (Though they work great as that on a cake.) These little pearls are a handful and this is also the perfect way to eat them. Use a spoon if you want to control the volume...though a large spoon is a good choice. Choose the "flavor" you want and share it away! Can't decide? Give all four to nieces and nephews, parents or loved ones! The joy and surprise will be like a trip to the beach.

Handmade by Willow!
Open this red box and lift the light covering of tissue to reveal the most beautiful shortbread you will ever see. The attention to detail is something you feel instantly as you pick up your first shortbread finger. And your palate tells you the same thing. The perfection from the "crumble" of the first bite to the final one is still perfect!

Panettone French Toast Recipe
In case you missed this recipe. It's never to early to make French Toast!
King Crab - Basic Recipe
Ok, the truth is fresh cooked crab right off the boat is totally amazing! And the other truth is you really need a really big pot (and lots of fire) to cook one and it's easier to have your fish monger do it for you. Big thick rubber gloves are good to use if you're doing all the cracking.
Baked Lamb Loin Recipe
This recipe is so simple. Lamb cooks in a snap and allows the lamb to shine. One of the most expensive lamb cuts you can buy, but well worth it if your butcher is willing and knows what they are doing.
