“A giant among Avocados”
In the world of avocados it's a giant.
The size of a softball or bigger, at over 1 pound (even 1.5 pounds), the Reed is a giant when it comes to flavor too!
Beneath that easy to peel thin skin lies one of the most luscious fleshes of any fruit or food on the planet. Its buttery, smooth, creamy flavor is how you want every avocado to taste.
Mostly confined to farmer's markets in Southern California, these large avocados escape their local area north to San Francisco markets. There are similar large round species of avocados in the world but so far nothing matches the perfect Reed's size and creamy taste.
So versatile is the flesh that you can not only slice it you can also spread it with a spoon!
For many, half a reed avocado eaten with a spoon is a meal all by itself. Fancy it up with a piece of toast and you have dinner.
This buttery, creamy flesh is a dream come true.
Pre-order soon, first come first serve, the drought, the excessive rain and now extreme heat has taken a toll on the fruit. Already released to be sold, Peter is waiting as long as he can before harvest to create the best fruit possible.
Almost 30 days earlier than the normal first harvest it will be a small crop. Limited number of orders will be filled this year and we are expecting only one shipment.

BEyond Breakfast
Oatmeal is more of an all-day staple in northern Europe, where enjoying it isn’t limited to breakfast.
Pinhead oats make a sensational Coconut Pudding – very similar to rice pudding, but with a heartier texture and nuttier flavor. Plus, making this ultimate comfort food with oats instead of rice boosts fiber considerably, and the pudding is just as rich, creamy and delicious. For a truly luscious treat, serve the pudding topped with toasted coconut and pecans.
And Oatmeal and breadcrumbs have long been used in meatloaf as extenders and to keep the meat moist. Using breadcrumbs will yield a soft, tender texture, while the pinhead oats produce a more interesting loaf. Our meatloaf recipe calls for adding pinhead oats to a blend of beef, pork and veal for a satisfying and really appealing textural combo.
Pinhead oats also make wonderful “risotto.” The classic cooking technique enhances the oats’ nuttiness. Our Oat Risotto with Butternut Squash and Preserved Lemon has all the wonderful qualities of a classic Italian risotto, in addition to the Moroccan inspired flavors of preserved lemon and cinnamon.
Try making it with vegetable broth for a sensational vegetarian meal. Pinhead oats are a great substitute for bulgar in tabbouleh, that classic grain salad of the Middle East.

Meatloaf w/Oatmeal Recipe
This meatloaf recipe calls for adding pinhead oats to a blend of beef, pork and veal. The flavor is brightened by the addition of original Hawkshead Relish – a delicious Worcestershire Sauce-style condiment – and the pinhead oats provide a hearty and robust texture – a satisfying and really delicious combination.

French Linden Tree Honey!
Known as Linden or Basswood honey in the US, it is known as Lime honey in Europe.
To me, "Lime" seems like a more appropriate name, given the flavor of the honey. Always one of my favorites, because of the shockingly citrusy brightness that shocks your palette at the back of the throat.
Add a little zip to your English afternoon tea, or morning English muffin.
A lightly colored, mostly solid honey that spreads smoothly and melts quickly.

A longtime ago (maybe thousands of years), well before written history, or at least typewriters, a discovery of evidence shows that man had discovered pearls. And as history is written since the invention of typewriters, the white, hard, lustrous pearls had been found on the shores of many beaches. With their wonderful inner glow these rare, hard-to-find gems have become some of the most valuable natural gems in the world...read the story here.

Sweet Sweetheart Cherries
A brilliant red, Sweethearts are a fairly new sweet cherry developed in British Columbia. A large, bright red fruit that matures five to seven days after Lapins, the Sweethearts have great flavor with a nice hint of tart on the finish to balance the sweetness. Their unique taste is a spectacular finale for the summer cherry season. The slight tartness makes them the best of the bunch for baking, as they lend that slight "sour" cherry flavor to pies, breads and my favorite recipe: cherry clafoutis. This sweet cherry is the tartest of the season.

Cocoa Curry Rubbed Chicken Salad Recipe
This is a combination of a few different recipes. The combination creates a perfect summer main dish - lots of flavor, not too heavy, fresh greens that are so abundant in the summer. In this case, we recommend slicing the breast and serving it cold atop your favorite greens dressed with a simple vinaigrette dressing. As with many simple recipes, the better the ingredients the better the outcome.
