Fastachi Cranberry Nut Mix

Fastachi's Cranberry Nut Mix

Fastachi's amazing nut mix. We first met Souran, the founder of Fastachi, 20 years ago.

Souran is a man who is passionate about his nuts. Whether you like to eat your nuts by the handful or if you're a one-at-a-time kind of gal, as soon as you take your first bite you'll realize how great this Cranberry Nut Mix really is. Souran has perfected the art of finding and roasting his nuts in very small batches, making great nuts extra special!

We always make it a point to eat a half pound handful to ensure that the nuts are super fresh. We have never been disappointed!

A fresh batch has just arrived! It's the perfect mix, a handful or a spooned scoop in the palm of your hand, always just the right amount of everything to make a pleasurable crunch and munch!

Fastachi Nuts are simply hand roasted in small batches with just sea salt, for clarity, perfection creating clean and distinctive flavors. We have enjoyed this mix for years. Perfect for an office snack or a party mix, these are good!

Its chewy and crunchy texture of cranberries, salted pistachio meats, salted almonds, roasted unsalted almonds, salted hazelnuts, roasted unsalted hazelnuts, salted peanuts, unsalted peanuts, red skin peanuts, sesame peanuts, and salted cashews will keep you coming back for more. A one-of-a-kind twist that leaves a tart and salty taste dancing on your tongue.

* Yuzu Kosho Green Green Yuzu Kosho

Awesome, hot, but not hot like you have had before.... Yuzu Kosho is a spicy, herby Japanese condiment that we are thrilled to bring to you. It's great for adding a delicious dash of flavor to fish, vegetables, even a turkey sandwich.

You may already have seen it at your favorite sushi spot or noodle house. Occasionally tucked in with the soy sauce, oyster sauce and garlic-chile paste is a jar of a mysterious, pea-green-colored condiment. If you're an intrepid eater, you may already know this culinary charmer . . . but if you haven't yet, it's time you met Yuzu Kosho.

* Organic Spelt Organic Spelt

The rising interest in health foods in the 1970s shed new light on the ancestral grains like, emmer and spelt, and their nutritional benefits. Heirloom varieties across the whole spectrum of food crops rose in popularity because health conscious consumers distrusted the plant breeding methods of the past hundred years. Concurrent with modern trends in breeding, farm chemicals became a growing aspect of mainstream agriculture over the last 30 years, allowing for industrialization of farming by monoculture practices.

Simply wholesome, you can use spelt in place of wheat berries, for sprouts, for hot breakfast cereal, in soups and in salads. Spelt berries also make great flour, if you have a kitchen mill.

* Villa Jerada Urfa Biber Villa Jerada Urfa Biber

Soft and moist on the spoon, to the nose it is raisin’eee, a bit like saba, finishing with the tingle of heat. It is, after all, a pepper.

The texture is between flakes and grounds. To create this pepper it is harvested and then baked in the sun during the day and wrapped so it sweats in the night for a week. The result is a complex and well-rounded profile.

This smoky, earthbound nuanced flake has hints of flavor to bring forth taste memories of chocolate and tobacco leaf. Really a very pleasant flavor with a bit of sweetness.

* Critida Cretan Olive Oil Critida Cretan Olive Oil

CRITIDA S.A. is a family-owned company with long experience and knowledge in the production of quality extra virgin olive oil. The current company was founded in Iraklion, Crete in 1998, in order to create and sell their own estate bottled extra virgin olive oil under their own family name.

Although estate bottled olive oils have been seen in Spain, Italy and France for 20 years, we are only now beginning to see estate olive oils in the US out of Crete. Although Critida has a number of different blends and bottlings, this is one of our favorites. Critida now sells their estate-bottled EVO to descriminating retailers and restaurants all over the world. It's like Crete in a bottle!

"One of the Most Delicious Things You'll Ever Taste."

"I'm back for my fourth year of ordering these amazing cakes, and they have become an important part of our holiday season. The moment you open one of these lovingly-packaged treats, you will find the aroma to be intoxicating. Try to resist poking your nose in this package over and over again. I simply can't. The rich smell of freshly-baked quality ingredients is amazing, but the best part is yet to come."
Michael - speaking about Panettone, the cake is the same only the shape is different.

Rice Bran Oil EP Rice Bran Oil!

Best high heat oil around!
"I can't swear to the health benefits included in the product's description, but it is definitely the best oil for use in high heat cooking I've ever seen. I've used peanut oil, avocado oil, almond oil, etc. and nothing has a higher smoke point than this rice bran oil. It's neutral in flavor and has a very long shelf life.
I love it."

Asparagus Risotto Recipe

This is another easy, delicious asparagus recipe that works as a side dish just as well as a main dish. Since this is a showcase for the green spears of spring, make sure that you get the freshest asparagus you can.

Lemon Risotto Recipe

This Lemon Risotto recipe was adapted from a recipe in this month's issue of Taste of Italian Magazine (August 2010). In this case, I am using preserved or cured lemons, instead of fresh lemons.

Master Lard Pie Crust Recipe

In a large-capacity food processor, pulse sugar, salt and flour together until well combined. Then pulse together the lard and flour mixture until it all resembles coarse cornmeal. Next, add the water while pulsing again. Continue until dough just comes together–you may not need all the water. Turn contents of the work bowl out onto a flat, clean surface and gather it together into two discs. Wrap dough and chill for at least 1 hour.
