Made in Italy Panettone!
The Best Holiday Christmas Bread
It really feels cold this Halloween. The thermometer at 53 degrees belies the real truth. A temperature considered warm or middling most everywhere else, here the air is laced with moisture which zips past the epidermal layer and goes right to the bone, chilling everything in between!
You can’t get home fast enough to wrap yourself into your wingback chair cozied up to a warm fire! With a cup of hot chocolate and a slice of the best holiday Italian cheer, Panettone!
We order your Panettone from Italy (from 4 different bakeries making 41 versions) in July for delivery in November. It can take up to three weeks to rise, bake and cool these kilo sized cakes. And if you ever wonder what all the rage is about, especially if you had one of those “tough-spongy-gross-dry breads” that is mass-produced, these magical “panettone” are airy, light, moist and fluffy and almost melt in your mouth!
Our anticipatory taste buds are salivating for the soft, supple, gentle, eye-closing Sorrento Lemon Panettone first bite of the year. Even our fingertips are tingling as they imagine pulling the first handful of effervescent dough away. All this happens as we dream of the wonderful packaging and the round dome of the Panettone!
Order now, as soon as they arrive they go right back out! (We sell out every year.)

Panettone Heaven
"This product is always so excellent. That combination of the fragrant eggy bread with those little lemon flavor bombs. We love to eat this on Christmas morning. I can smell it toasting now! Also makes for some fabulous French Toast too!"
-- charles
One of the Most Delicious Things You'll Ever Taste
"I'm back for my fourth year of ordering these amazing panettones, and they have become an important part of our holiday season. The moment you open one of these lovingly-packaged treats, you will find the aroma to be intoxicating. Try to resist poking your nose in this package over and over again. I simply can't. The rich smell of freshly-baked quality ingredients is amazing, but the best part is yet to come. Disregard any comparisons between panettone and fruitcake. The consistency of the panettone is light & fluffy, and the candied lemons are luscious but subtle. If you are looking for that special holiday gift that will impress the jingle bells off someone, you must try these (but be sure to order one for yourself or you'll regret it)."

Primo Pan Drolo
These crunch filled Chocolate Hazelnut cookies are to die for. Well, perhaps not quite that far. But they are pretty gosh darn good!
Open the package and you instantly get a sweet whiff of cocoa and hazelnut! Perfectly lovely! The bite has a nice crispness to it and as you chew you get chewy bites of the hazelnut bits. I found them hard to resist, mangiare with contentment.
Different than flour based cookies, the crunch and the bite are a great experience. Raise your expectations to a new plane and you will be happy and filled this holiday with hazelnuts and dark chocolate!

Honey Cakes filled with Jam
These Pain d'spice cake-lets, are a wonderful honey cake filled with 4 different types of jam to choose from.
Pain d'épice, translated as spice bread or gingerbread, is a traditional bread that uses dark buckwheat honey to sweeten the unleavened sourdough rye flour. Rich and sweet, the honey cake is not light and fluffy, but has a firm, dry feel. Do not expect a muffin or cupcake, instead expect a firm almost crusty sweet flake filled with a wonderful French jam.
Some love the jam so much they can't wait to reach the center! I love the bread and think of it as one of the great treats in life. Sometimes I just ever so slightly heat my nonnettes in the toaster oven or the microwave for 2 seconds. It's just enough time to soften the honey and tease the jam!
Order as soon as you can because, as always, there is a limited supply available. Keep in mind this is not for everyone.

Albertengo Chocolate Panettone
Chocolate ... delicious panettone ... chocolate ... what more could one need? Albertengo's chocolate panettone cake is a delicious holiday treat. Rich in drops of pure, dark chocolate - it's the simple and elegant secret to this Italian specialty cake. Studded with bits of dark chocolate instead of the traditional raisins and candied fruits. Add to that a Piedmont hazelnut icing - and you have a winner and a half! A real delight for those keen on chocolate.

Flamigni Candied Chestnut Panettone
"I love Panettone. I love chestnuts. Eating this is like a slice of heaven. It is rich, moist, flavorful and studded with the right balance of candied chestnuts. While they say it is new this year, I ordered one last year, thus my reason to order one again this year (and more than likely next year as well). It is difficult to wait until Christmas to eat it, but I will wait. Unfortunately, I have to share it with my family."

Never too early for Fruitcake
The Monks of Our Lady of Guadalupe Trappist Abbey in Lafayette, Oregon make an outstanding Christmas fruit cake. Dark and dense, it is loaded with fruit and nuts, but not with the typical maraschino cherries and green citron - instead they use raisins, candied pineapple, and candied cherries. Baked for almost three hours, the Trappist Abbey fruit cakes are then soaked in fine brandy. (You can always add more brandy and soak for next year!)
Best Fruitcake
"I like fruitcake and this is the best I've ever tasted, a perennial favorite at my house. Perfectly moist, incredibly rich and flavorful, great balance of cake, fruit and nuts. Don't wait for the holidays to order and risk it being sold out!"

Habanero Carrot Curry Haute Sauce
The first “bite”, so to speak, of the Habanero Carrot Curry was a pleasant, albeit fiery, taste that evolved from the flavor of carrot to a hot burn to a finish of more flavors including turmeric and curry all the whilst the heat is subsiding!
Wowsa! A hot sauce that doesn't dull the senses, has plenty of heat and on top of it all, tastes like something you can recognize! And don't let the carrot curry thing make you think this is a mellow heat. Most consider this hotter and full of bite compared to the smoked or red chile lime from Marshalls.
Mix with coconut milk cream and make a perfect sauce with cold shrimp!

Tonno e Fagioli (Tuna & Beans) Recipe
Fast, easy and traditional -- a perfect quick fix. Hardy and healthy, and perfect for a fall meal or after skiing the slopes. Canned beans from Italy along with a can of tuna from Spain and you have lunch!
Cocoa & Curry Rubbed Chicken Salad Recipe
This is a combination of a few different recipes. The combination creates a perfect summer main dish - lots of flavor, not too heavy, fresh greens that are so abundant in the summer. In this case, we recommend slicing the breast and serving it cold atop your favorite greens dressed with a simple vinaigrette dressing. As with many simple recipes, the better the ingredients the better the outcome.
Paula Wolfert's Toulouse-style Cassoulet Recipe
Ahhh, the ethereal Cassoulet. The classic and complicated French recipe that, sooner or later, many advanced cooks try to conquer. There are many versions of cassoulet out there -- some more complicated than others. This recipe is adapted courtesy of Food & Wine Magazine, and the famed Mediterranean cookbook author, Paula Wolfert. According to Paula, the dish gets its name from the pot it's traditionally baked in, the cassole, which is often shaped like a wide inverted cone to insure the greatest amount of luscious crust. This version includes duck confit and the French garlic sausages that are a specialty of Toulouse.
