Wheat Germ Linguine
Squid Ink Pasta worth having
Squid ink is a defensive liquid expelled to cloud the water in order to confuse the other aquatic creatures. It is filled with amino acids, iron, copper, dopamine and even polysaccharides. Wow! They have found in testing that there are antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-cancer properties.
The only caveat to this is that you might need to drink gallons to get these proclaimed benefits!
If we stick to what we can see, we can see that squid ink is an amazing dark dark blue that looks black to the eye. It is a great natural dye especially for food. Dishes with black rice, adding squid ink to make your risotto even darker with seafood (no cheese), or make your own fresh pasta by adding squid ink to your egg before you mix in the flour.
Melanin is the dark pigment that makes your hair, iris and skin color and squid ink is mainly this. And also why this pasta is so black! It is absolutely gorgeous (even before you cook it) on the plate.
Top it with a mix of seafood or a spicy tomato sauce, simple is better! The taste? Not distinct and hard to describe. You know something is definitely there and the pasta is so, so satisfying to mangiare! It’s perfect! Cook al dente for sure to get a soft exterior bite and chewy center, just right!
I just ate a plate (full) of squid ink linguine and want more! Right now it is my favorite pasta on the planet!

Spoon-Ready
Joy will wrap up your spoon!
Spoon-ready is a term we started using 21 years ago when we opened. It began with olive oils when we experienced such great flavors and realized a spoonful can be an amazing experience all by itself!
Spoon-ready means products/ingredients that you might put on your toast or use to make pastry, yet are so good you might just pass on the making and go right to eating!
Today we have included many of our favorites, so get out your spoons and be ready!
First up:
Hey Boo Coconut Jam is a dreamy, creamy, all natural spread! Chilled in the refrigerator and then warmed (in your mouth) it goes from cold to gold!
Hey Boo Coconut Jam has a very soft mouth feel as you taste; even on a spoon, your inclination is to use the tip of your tongue to start. Pushing up to the roof of your mouth as the flavor of lemon dominates and mixes nicely with the coconut milk.
If you haven’t closed your eyes yet, you will on the next taste as you try to define the flavor. As the flavor spreads you will find your inner cheeks puckering up with a wonderful lemony memory.

Green Beans with a Pop!
These ready straight-out-of-the-jar green beans are meant for sandwiches and toppings for salads. We first met them and we couldn't stop eating them, they never made it past our mouths to a sandwich or even a fork!
They crunch when you munch. Hard to resist. You pull one out, and without a doubt, it's a treat that can't be beat!
Now we show it on a sandwich, in a salad, or on a plate as a cool side. But really, we have eaten every last one of the first sample jar just plain. IT must be good for you (and healthy too?) 'cause we crave them soooo!
Though it's a silent jar, every time I open it, there magically seems to be hands reaching in to have "just one"!

Love at First Bite
Sometimes chocolate should be candy
This secret, high-end chocolate comes shaped like sticks. Perfect for baking, even better for munching on out-of-hand!
It was love at first bite. We read the story of lost love of two old friends who revived their friendship, his for chocolate covered cherries and hers, for the missing childhood memory of the American delicacy, peanut butter.
Though it was only planned for a short visit it was long enough for her to share her love and the reason why she remained in Paris.
And though he understood after tasting, why she loves so much, he chose a different path for his love of chocolate.
So many years ago it would've been a reason for them not to even have breakfast together but now that they are older, the differences are not enough to keep them apart.
The pain, (oh, shock a lot), was enough for him to want to stay and eat "French bread" for the rest of his life. And he was willing to accept her choice, the croissant, sans chocolat.
With such simple ingredients it is amazing that from one Baker's hands compared to another, the results can be so astronomically different. And one can argue that it is purely the butter (84% butterfat) that makes the difference. Ingredients make a difference and better is always better.
These chocolates are great to snack on and as for him, he could dip his baton in the peanut butter for an instant butter cup!

This is how the cookie crumbles!
It's one of the secret ingredients for making ganache, truffles and frostings. On the other hand, the palm of the hand, it is a fistful of cookie munch. These wafer thin, airy, holy, are a crunchy mess. Made in sheets and then crumbled, these sweet crispy crépes are the secret treat!
Who would think these little tiny shards could be so tasty. So plan on making some Hazelnut Creme Cookies or a nice chocolate ganache and add these feuilletine flakes for some nice flavorful crunch. And don't forget to eat a handful along the way.

Orange Candy
Candied fruit is like candy already. Why we like this one is because it is dusted and not sticky like other candied fruit! You can grab a few and no need to rush to the sink to wash up. Just enjoy the bite and the citrus.
These delicious French candied orange peels are neither too sweet nor too stiff, and they're perfect for a whole host of applications. Use them as-is to dip in your favorite dark chocolate couverture for a wonderful treat to serve with after-dinner coffee. Or you can dice them up and use them in an array of baked goods and confections, from cookies and cakes to puddings and tarts. Classic bitter orange flavor, and nicely coated with inverted sugar, so they don't stick together.
